Our Loan Products
AIL currently offers seven types of loan products, as outlined below. The Agriculture and CBO loans serve as standard microfinance group loans available to new clients, while the remaining loan products function as supplementary facilities designed to support business expansion activities.
CBO Loan Products
This loan scheme is designed for members affiliated with community-based organizations (CBOs) established by Arthavida branch offices, with the primary objective of alleviating poverty within their respective regions. The scheme provides financial assistance for the establishment of new small-scale enterprises, the expansion and improvement of existing businesses, and the promotion of sustainable income generation within local communities. In addition, it facilitates funding for non-income-generating activities undertaken by members, thereby supporting holistic community development. Through this initiative, Arthavida strengthens its institutional presence and credibility within the communities it serves and promotes greater participation in its microfinance programs.
Vigasa / Direct Vigasa Loan Products
This direct loan scheme is introduced for members of community-based organizations who have previously obtained loans under the First Loan approach that were insufficient to meet their immediate financial needs, as well as for members who have maintained strong credit records. This loan scheme has strengthened our reputation within the communities we serve and helped attract a larger number of members to our microfinance program.
Instant Loan Products
The Instant Loan scheme is designed for members who are currently servicing an existing loan under the CBO Loan Program but require immediate financial assistance to meet urgent business or personal needs. This product specifically addresses short-term and emergency funding requirements of members, ensuring access to additional financial support without disrupting their ongoing loan commitments. The loan is processed within a significantly shorter period compared to other loan products, enabling members to obtain funds promptly when urgent financial needs arise.
Trade Loan Products
The “Trade Loan” scheme is implemented for individuals engaged in trading activities within the operational areas of each Arthavida branch, at locations that allow for effective monitoring and follow-up. This loan scheme aims to provide financial support to community members to enhance and expand their existing trade activities.
Given the challenging economic conditions in the country, special consideration is given to offering these loans exclusively for trade activities that generate daily income for the borrower. By extending loan facilities to support daily trading operations during this difficult economic period, the reputation of Arthavida is further strengthened, enabling us to attract new members to our microfinance program.
Kanna Boga (Agricultural Crops) Products
This loan program has been introduced to improve the living standards of members who primarily depend on agriculture for their livelihood and who are affiliated with community-based organizations established by the branch offices of the Arthavida. These organizations have been formed with the primary objective of alleviating poverty within their respective areas.
Diriya (Courage) Product
This loan scheme is available to individuals who have completed a vocational training program conducted by the Arthacharya Foundation or any other recognized vocational training institution, enabling them to start their own businesses or expand existing ones. This scheme strengthens our reputation within the communities we serve and help attract additional members to our microfinance program.
SME Products
As an initial phase, the “Small and Medium Enterprise Development” loan scheme has implemented exclusively through the Grade A branches of the Arthavida.
The objective of introducing this scheme is to support the growth and development of businesses operated by Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) and members who have previously obtained loans of up to Rs. 300,000 through the Arthavida under the CBO or Direct Loan programs.
Solar Product
Introduction to the 'Solar Panel' Loan Scheme
The Solar Panel Loan Scheme is being introduced for a selected group of members who currently hold loans with the Arthavida. This initiative aims to support these members in further developing their existing income-generating businesses. This scheme enhances our reputation within the communities we serve and help attract additional members to our microfinance program.
